NEW PIRATE SHIP WELCOMES FIRST SAILORS
Aldercourt Primary School in Frankston North has installed a new pirate ship playground thanks to $20,000 in funding from the Dunkley Local Schools Community Fund.
Federal Member for Dunkley, Peta Murphy MP recently visited the school to see how the new equipment encourages imaginative play.
“School kids learn so much in their early years, this new equipment will allow them to engage in more outdoor play which is beneficial to their mental and physical wellbeing.” Ms Murphy said.
“The playground has been cleverly designed to incorporate physical elements adding to the school’s literacy and mathematics curriculum.”
“Aldercourt Primary School is a great local school. I’m very proud to support our community with this funding.”
The pirate ship play equipment encompasses climbing, balancing and imaginative play and will be used by Aldercourt’s 200 students along with the local Frankston North community.
The Dunkley Local Schools Community Fund delivers funding to assist schools with small capital works and equipment purchases.
