FUNDING TO SUPPORT LOCAL WILDLIFE SERVICE

Australian Wildlife Assistance Rescue & Education (AWARE) is continuing to deliver their service in the Frankston area thanks to $12,000 in funding from the Dunkley Environmental Grants Program.

AWARE volunteers rescue, care and rehabilitate over 1,500 native animals each year. On top of this, they operate a 24-hour emergency wildlife rescue and advice hotline.

Federal Member for Dunkley, Peta Murphy MP recently met with representatives from AWARE to talk about the benefit that this funding brings to their organisation and local fauna.

“AWARE volunteers give up their time to care for native animals and educate our local community about native animal welfare. They deserve our support.” Ms Murphy said.

“This funding will enable AWARE to undertake crucial administration work and purchase appropriate formula and food to care for animals in need”

“All our local environmental groups play an important role in our community, I’m very proud to be supporting them with this funding”.

The Dunkley Environmental Grants Programs delivers funding to local groups for small-scale, on-ground projects that aim to conserve, protect and manage our environment.
