Labor’s Plans for a Better Future

Australians deserve a government with ambition, vision, and a plan for economic recovery.

A government which creates opportunity and rewards hard work.

The pandemic made it clear that we are stronger together. We are more resilient together. We are better together.

Only Labor has real plans for a better future.

• A better life for you and your family.
• Secure, well-paid jobs so you can plan for the future.
• A future made in Australia.

You can view all of Labor's policies here.

Fixing the aged care crisis

Peta Murphy MP and Labor will stop the neglect and put security, dignity, quality and humanity back into aged care for older Australians.

Our plan will put nurses back into nursing homes, giving carers more time to care. It will lift wages in the sector, deliver better care and improve transparency and accountability.

Strengthening Medicare with more local GPs

Across our community, it’s harder to see a GP than ever before.

But we’re going to change that. Peta Murphy MP and an Albanese Labor Government will make Frankston a priority area to recruit GPs.

It’s what local medical clinics and I have been fighting for.

Upgrading Frankston Basketball Stadium
Over 8,000 people regularly participate at Frankston Basketball. It’s one of the biggest basketball associations in Australia – and it’s still growing.
So to make sure there are enough courts for everyone to play, Peta Murphy MP and an Albanese Labor Government will invest in the upgrade of Frankston Basketball Stadium.
It will mean new basketball courts, more change rooms and better community spaces. And there’s room for gymnastics too.
This is a Frankston City Council priority project that will help deliver a Better Future for our community.

Upgrading Emil Madsen Reserve

The $15 million announcement is a commitment to partner with Mornington Peninsula Shire, the clubs and the local community to deliver modern, accessible facilities to meet the future demand.

Key projects of the Masterplan include the construction of a new east pavilion, new west pavilion and an upgrade of the existing pavilion on oval 2. The Masterplan also provides for the creation of a district level play space and skatepark.

These upgrades will mean that Mount Eliza Junior Football Club, Mount Eliza Soccer Club, Mount Eliza Football Netball Club and Mount Eliza Cricket Club - some of the biggest sporting clubs in our region - can grow and reach more people in the community.

Thank you to everyone who supported our local campaign.

Upgrading Sandfield Reserve
An Albanese Labor Government will transform the Sandfield Reserve into a vibrant, family friendly regional park!
Key projects include a better playground, new fitness station and bigger skate park. Plus improved seating, paths, shade, lighting and more trees.
But that’s not all. There’s plans for a new multiuse court, climbing wall, football posts as well as BBQ facilities.
This is a Frankston City Council priority project that will deliver a Better Future for the Carrum Downs and broader community.
